    At Key Shark Cage Adventures, we offer unforgettable shark cage diving experiences right off the coast of Marathon, Florida. Join us for an exhilarating encounter with some of the ocean's most majestic creatures in their natural habitat.


    6 Hour Shark Cage Trips

    8 am to 2 pm

    $225 per person with a 4 passenger minimum to sail
    Private charter $1200 up to 6 passengers

      Our shark dive adventures are the culmination of many years of working on the water. We sail from Key Marathon on our vessel Fins, which has been outfitted to run at speed with our super strong, custom built cage. The cage comfortably holds two at a time and the entry and exit of the cage has been designed to easily provide access by everyone. If you’re not comfortable in the cage, the view from the cockpit is also spectacular. Most who begin watching from the cockpit quickly see how exciting and safe the cage is and find themselves venturing into it before the trip has ended. You do not have to have any experience as a diver to fully enjoy the beauty of sharks since it is a surface shark cage. Whether you are a local or are on vacation, our shark cage tours allow for you to become part of the majestic ocean and it’s habitants. It is common to observe dolphins, turtles and other marine life while on these excursions. 

     Upon arriving on location after only a few miles of traveling along the sparkling Floridian waters, the captain will chum the water to attract the sharks and other marine life to the vessel. We bring these powerful creatures right to the boat which provides a spectacular close up view by all. The types of sharks you may encounter are hammerhead, bull, lemon, tiger, blacktip, and nurse, just to name a few.  Please feel free to bring your own photography and/or videography so you can capture this once in a lifetime experience. We recommend that you bring a change of clothes. You may want to pack snacks/drinks, a hat, sunblock and if you have any of your own snorkeling gear you are welcome to bring it along. 

    3 Hours Sharks & Rays Viewing with Sunset Cruise Trip

    $100 PP min 4 people to sail -- Private boat $495 up to 6 people

     

    The shark viewing and sunset cruise will have different sail times due to the changing times for sunset.

    Shark & Ray viewing tours are perfect for families, friends, and groups that would like to observe the ocean’s apex predators without going in the water. Whether you are a local or are on vacation, our shark viewing tours bring a new perspective to sea life compared to viewing from land. It is common to observe dolphins, turtles and other marine life while on these excursions.

    We bring these powerful creatures right to the boat which provides a spectacular close-up view by all. Upon arriving on location after only a few miles of traveling along the sparkling Floridian waters, the captain will chum the water to attract the sharks and other marine life to the vessel. A larger baitfish will be attached to a (hookless) line to allow for a unique viewing experience of the sharks chomping down on their prey. The types of sharks that you may encounter are tigers, makos, bulls, reef, hammerheads, and blues. If yourself or one of your party would like to “wet a line” and catch some dinner, you are more than welcome to.

    After all the excitement from interacting with the sharks, we complete the trip with a slow sunset cruise. We will strategically position the boat you take in the full beauty of a “ postcard perfect” Florida Keys sunset from the water. Be sure to look for the green flash as the sun sets below the horizon. Please feel free to bring your own photography and/or videography so you can capture this once in a lifetime experience. Full Day Charters are available upon request.

    Our shark cage adventures are the culmination of many years in the waters we operate. We currently sail from Keys Fisheries Seafood Restaurant, Market, & Marina. Our vessel has been outfitted to run at speed with our super strong, custom built "Aquarium View"  cage. The cage comfortably holds one or two at a time and the entrance and egress into and out of the cage has been designed to easily provide access by everyone. If you’re not comfortable in the cage, the view from the cockpit is also spectacular. Most who begin watching from the cockpit quickly see how exciting and safe the cage is and find themselves venturing in before the trip has ended. You do not have to have any experience as a diver to fully enjoy the beauty of sharks

    We depart from Keys Fisheries Seafood Restaurant, Market, & Marina located at  3502 Gulfview Ave, Key Marathon, FL 33050.  We are in slip 14, on the outside slips, walk past the Tiki Bar and look for the boat with sharks on top of their sign and the shark cage.  The name of the boat is FINS

    We recommend bringing a bathing suit, sunscreen, towel and a change of clothes. A light jacket or sweatshirt is recommended in order to maintain comfort as the weather conditions fluctuate. 

    Yes we have an enclosed private bathroom below in the cabin.

     Yes, anyone 21 and older is welcome to responsibly consume alcoholic beverages.  

     We currently do not offer a photography or videography package.   Everyone is welcome to bring cameras, video recorders, and any underwater cameras that they have.   Many people are generous enough to share emails so if one person has a GO PRO on board, you may be able to obtain footage from your fellow cage diver.  Just ask them! 

    We have over 20 different varieties of sharks in our local waters. The most common we encoutnure are; Bulls, Lemons, Black Tips, Tiger, Hammerhead, Silky, Spinner, and Nurse Sharks.

     The ride is approximately 30-45 minutes. 

     We provide all equipment needed at no additional cost.  We have an assortment of wet suits if desired, including masks and snorkels.  You are welcome to bring your own if you wish.  

    Please be at the dock 15 minutes before sailing to take care of paperwork and safety briefing. 

    When arriving at Keys Fisheries park in the dirt parking lot in front of Tiki Bar, walk down the dock toward the sailboats at end.  Our vessel FINS is in slip 14, look for the sharks above the sign and the shark cage.

     If you are prone to motion sickness or typically do not go offshore often, we suggest taking preventive measures. If you choose to take preventative measures, it is important to start taking it the night before the trip. Taking anti-motion sickness mediation as we depart the dock will be ineffective. 

     We are dealing with wild, unpredictable, apex predators. Our captains and crew have over 70 combined years of experience interacting with sharks. We have a 98% success rate with sharks to the cage and the vessel. Our professional crews will do everything in their power to show you a great experience.

    Terms and Conditions

    Payment policy

    Bookings will not be confirmed until receipt of a deposit amounting to 25% of the cost is confirmed

    Cancellation or changes to the charter by Keys Shark Dive, LLC

     If circumstances occur beyond the control of Keys Shark Dive and a charter has to be cancelled, then all deposits and fees will be refunded and the company’s liability will cease thereafter.  Keys Shark Dive, LLC shall not be held responsible for any additional costs incurred by the clients attending a charter that is subsequently cancelled, including but not limited to flights, care hire, transfers and accommodations. 

    Cancellation by the client

     In the event of cancellation by the client less than 30 days before the trip, the deposits and fees are NOT refundable. Cancellations less than 72 hours before the trip and “no shows” will be charged the full price of the scheduled trip. NO EXCEPTIONS. 

    Skipper decision

     In accordance with accepted marina practice, the decisions of the skipper from the moment he steps on board the vessel are final. Every attempt will be made to give clients the maximum sea time 

    available.   However, if the skipper deems that weather conditions, safety issues or any other factors would make it imprudent to continue once the vessel has left the marina, the skipper’s decision is final.  Keys Shark Dive, LLC shall not be liable for any claims for return of fees due to such events.  

    In the event that there are any vessel changes made due to a vessel becoming unsuitable for charter for any reason whatsoever, Keys Shark Dive, LLC will do their best to provide a similar vessel. This in no way affects the validity of the booking and the terms and conditions stated herein remain good.

    Any person arriving to the boat showing signs of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs may not be allowed on board the boat to partake in the charter. Should this situation arise, Keys Shark Dive, LLC shall not be liable for any claims for return of fees due to such events.

    Insurance

     

    The boats are insured for charter purposes, Keys Shark Dive, LLC accepts no liability for loss, personal injury, illness or food poisoning. We recommend that clients obtain their own insurance to cover these eventualities.

    Keys Shark Dive, LLC accepts no responsibility for disruption caused to the client by forces of nature such as fire, flood, acts of God, strikes, political unrest, acts of government or authorities, or any other occurrence beyond our control.

    Damages and breakages

     Damages and breakages caused by the client as a result of willful or neglectful act are the responsibility of the client and any costs incurred as a result of such, shall be reimbursed on demand to Keys Shark Dive, LLC or its representatives. For safety reasons the skipper must be notified immediately of any damage found or caused by the client. 

    Prohibited items and substances

     It is forbidden to bring on board any illegal item such as prohibited drugs, firearms, weapons, noxious substances or liquids, or any other item of any kind that is unlawful or unsuitable for use on the boat. The skipper reserves the right to refuse to allow any item on board that he should deem unsuitable for any reason whatsoever. Any client refusing to allow packages to be checked will not be allowed on board the vessel and will be responsible for their own return travel arrangements. Keys Shark Dive, LLC will not be responsible for any costs incurred by the client as a result of such an event occurring. 

    Published information

     Every care has been taken to ensure that all information published by Keys Shark Dive, LLC including brochures, advertisements and mailings, that describe the boats and activities are accurate and are given in good faith not withstanding that such are subject to change due to events beyond the control of Keys Shark Dive, LLC. 

    Declaration

     All charter clients must agree to these terms and conditions. The charterer must be over the age of 18 years and all passengers in good health other than any conditions notified to us. All minors unaccompanied by legal guardian must provide a waiver completed by a legal guardian prior to boarding the vessel. The skipper has the final decision in any matters concerning the safety of the vessel and any of it’s passengers. Please text the office at 305-849-1679 with the number of unaccompanied minors and email addresses to the respective legal guardians, the office must receive the completed waivers before departure.
